Best PR Agencies in Ireland (Updated August 2026)

The companies in this list are ordered alphabetically by name. That is the only ordering applied, so a company's position implies no ranking, preference or assessment of quality.

PR sells relationships with journalists, and those take years to build, which is why a specialist is worth more here than a service list suggests. The work is pitching stories, writing the releases and statements, and shaping the positioning underneath them. No agency can guarantee coverage; a proposal promising named placements is usually describing paid partnerships. Four firms here publish a 900 euro minimum and five publish nothing at all.

Specialist shop, or PR bolted onto a retainer?

  • Specialist or add-on. Six firms here do PR almost exclusively. An agency offering PR alongside six other services rarely has the contacts.
  • Sector relationships. Ask which journalists covering your sector they spoke to in the last month. It is a fair question and the answer is revealing.
  • What the retainer buys. Convert the monthly fee into hours and named activity, or you cannot compare two proposals.
  • Agreed measurement. Decide before you start what success looks like. Coverage volume is not it.
  • Who delivers the launch. Press days and launches are delivered work, and most PR firms bring in one of the event companies to do it rather than running it themselves.

No agency can guarantee coverage. If a proposal promises specific placements in specific publications, ask whether those are paid partnerships, because that is what a guarantee usually means.

Questions that test a relationship business

PR in Ireland runs on relationships, so the questions that matter go beyond who does PR only.

  • Crisis readiness. Ask whether the agency has run a live crisis for a client, not just planned for one on paper. It is a different skill from proactive coverage.
  • Notice period and exclusivity. Some retainers lock in sector exclusivity, which stops the agency working a competitor. Check the notice period too, since PR relationships take months to rebuild elsewhere.
  • Spokesperson support. Media training and message development matter as much as the pitch itself. Ask what happens before your CEO's first interview, not just after.
  • National versus trade press. A consumer story needs national and lifestyle contacts. A B2B story needs trade press relationships a generalist agency may not have.
  • Team continuity. Small teams mean the person who pitched you is the person doing the work, usually an advantage in PR specifically.
  • Sponsorship measurement. Two agencies here sell sponsorship alongside PR. It generates goodwill and rarely a number, so agree first how turning sponsorship into measurable activity will be judged.

What earned coverage can and cannot deliver

A PR agency builds and works journalist relationships to earn coverage for a client, which means pitching stories, writing releases and statements, and shaping the positioning behind them. Several agencies here add event management, social media or content marketing, but media relations is the core product and the reason to hire one.

Two things usually sit next to it on a plan. Earned coverage seldom carries a launch on its own, so paid reach gets planned alongside it by the media agencies on this list. And a press hit expires in days unless owned content picks it up, which is the argument for the content marketing agencies here.

What it does not deliver: guaranteed placements, paid advertising space, or search engine rankings. An agency promising specific coverage in specific titles is usually describing a paid partnership rather than earned PR.

Businesses typically bring PR in around a launch, a funding round, a leadership change or a crisis that needs a considered public response, and increasingly as an ongoing retainer to build sector credibility that advertising cannot buy. A business with nothing newsworthy yet to say gets little value from PR until that changes.

Hourly bands, minimums, and what moves them

Four agencies in this file publish a project minimum of 900 euro, and one, Etch Communications, publishes 4,500 euro, the highest here. Five list no minimum at all, which is common in PR since most work is sold as an ongoing retainer rather than a fixed project.

Hourly rates where published run from 45 to 180 euro. The bottom of that range, 45 to 90 euro, belongs to an agency where PR sits inside a broader digital marketing retainer. The top, 135 to 180 euro, belongs to a specialist combining PR with content marketing.

PR is priced almost entirely on retainer, not project, and the fee buys a fixed number of hours a month spent pitching, writing and managing relationships. Ask any agency to convert its retainer into hours so proposals become comparable. The published minimums above are a rough entry signal only, not what an ongoing retainer will cost.

We have selected and reviewed these companies based on factors such as their services, industry experience, reputation, client portfolio, pricing where publicly available, market presence, and other relevant business metrics. The information and pricing mentioned are based on details available at the time of publication and may change over time. We recommend verifying the latest information directly with each company.

Best for PR with event marketing

    Location
    Dublin, Ireland
    Team size
    2 - 9
    Min project
    Undisclosed
    Founded
    2016

Buck & Hound works from a studio on Clarendon Street in Dublin, founded in 2016, with a team of two to nine. It pairs press campaigns with the design and social work that carries them, so the assets and the pitch come from the same place.

    How they work

Named awards on the listing: Best Issues-led Campaign and Best Charity Campaign at the PRCA awards, and Most Innovative PR and Media Agency at the Irish Enterprise Awards. Issues-led and charity recognition points at campaigns with a position to argue rather than a product to launch.

    What sets them apart

Sectors are consumer brands, non-profits, retail, and food and drink, and the project minimum is undisclosed. It suits a brand or non-profit whose PR has to be seen as well as covered. The wide service list is the thing to test: ask how much of the retainer is media relations and how much is design.

    Min project
    Undisclosed
    Founded
    1997

Comit has operated from Nutgrove Office Park in Rathfarnham since 1997, with a team of two to nine. Alongside press and media relations it handles SEO, B2B social and employer branding, the last of those for companies competing to hire technical staff.

    How they work

Nearly three decades in Irish and multinational technology means the trade press contacts are specific rather than general. Sectors are technology, sustainability and energy, and business services.

    What sets them apart

Hourly rates are 135 to 180 euro, the highest published on this list, and the project minimum is undisclosed. It suits a B2B technology or sustainability firm that needs industry stakeholders reached rather than consumers. The rate is the filter: at that level you are buying named contacts, so ask which publications and which journalists.

    Dublin, Ireland

    10 - 49
    Hourly rate
    €90 - €135

    Founded
    1985

Cullen Communications has run from Clyde Road in Dublin since 1985 and is among the longest-established PR firms in the country, with a team of 10 to 49. Separate divisions handle event management and commercial sponsorship alongside media relations and corporate communications.

    How they work

Three checkable credentials sit on the listing: certification as a B Corporation, PR Agency of the Year at the 2024 PRCA awards, and sole Irish membership of the Public Relations Global Network, which matters for campaigns running in several countries.

    What sets them apart

Rates are 90 to 135 euro an hour with a 900 euro project minimum. Sectors are automotive, travel and transport, retail, food and drink, and education. It suits a corporate client that needs media relations, events and sponsorship handled together, and it is the most credentialed general PR option on this page.

  4. 4. Etch Communications

Best for pure public relations work

    Location
    Dublin, Ireland
    Team size
    2 - 9
    Hourly rate
    €90 - €135
    Min project
    €4,500+

Etch Communications is a Blackrock firm of two to nine people working almost entirely in traditional PR and event management, with no digital or advertising services attached.

    How they work

Sectors are health and wellness, retail and technology, and rates are 90 to 135 euro an hour.

    What sets them apart

The project minimum is 4,500 euro, the highest published on this list. That figure rules the agency out for a business wanting to trial PR or buy a single release, and signals a retainer relationship rather than project work.

It suits a company that has decided PR is a standing function and wants a firm that does nothing else. There are no verified reviews and no named clients on the listing, so both need asking for.

  5. 5. Hopscotch Europe

Best for PR combined with social

    Location
    Dublin, Ireland
    Team size
    10 - 49
    Min project
    Undisclosed
    Founded
    2006

Hopscotch Europe is on Merrion Square, established in 2006 as the European arm of the Hopscotch communications group, with a Dublin team of 10 to 49.

    How they work

The structural advantage is single-point coordination. One campaign can run across European, Middle Eastern and African markets from Dublin rather than being briefed agency by agency, and group membership gives access to sister agencies for work outside its own remit.

    What sets them apart

Sectors are technology, consumer brands, travel and tourism, and retail. The project minimum is undisclosed. It suits a brand selling in more than one country; a business that only needs Irish national coverage will get a closer fit, usually at lower cost, from one of the smaller specialists here.

    Best for public relations only

    Location
    Dublin, Ireland
    Team size
    2 - 9
    Min project
    Undisclosed
    Founded
    2005

Host & Co. was set up in 2005 by Tim Magee and is now co-led with Órla Dukes, with a team of around ten working on national press, venue launches and long-form brand storytelling for hospitality names in Ireland and abroad.

    How they work

The collaborator names on the listing are specific to the sector: writer Marina O'Loughlin and chefs Mark Moriarty and Mickael Viljanen. A sister company, Studio Host, covers visual content and social media, so both can be bought from one relationship.

    What sets them apart

Sectors are hospitality, food and drink, and travel and tourism, and the project minimum is undisclosed. It suits a restaurant, hotel or premium food brand. Anything outside food, drink, hospitality and luxury travel is not their client base, and the agency says so itself.

    Best for dedicated PR delivery

    Location
    Dublin, Ireland
    Team size
    10 - 49
    Min project
    Undisclosed

Káno Communications operates from Clanwilliam Square at Grand Canal Dock with a team of 10 to 49. It traded as Weber Shandwick in Ireland before rebranding and remains part of that international network.

    How they work

The named client list is the strongest on this page: Nestlé, Ericsson, the Irish Hotels Federation, WaterWipes, Amazon Prime and Ardmore Film Studios. Services extend past media relations into public affairs and crisis and issues management, which is a separate skill from winning proactive coverage.

    What sets them apart

Sectors are healthcare, technology, hospitality, consumer brands and the public sector, and the project minimum is undisclosed. It suits an organisation facing regulatory scrutiny or a live issue rather than a start-up wanting first coverage.

  8. 8. PR1

Best for PR and events outside Dublin

    Location
    Edenderry, Ireland
    Team size
    2 - 9
    Hourly rate
    €90 - €135
    Min project
    €900+
    Founded
    2003

PR1 has run from Glengarra House in Edenderry, County Offaly, since 2003, with a team of two to nine. The service list is broad for a firm this size: publicity and press work, event management, marketing planning, advertising, content and social media.

    How they work

Being outside Dublin is the practical distinction. Midlands businesses get a full- service agency within driving distance, which makes face-to-face working normal rather than occasional.

    What sets them apart

Rates are 90 to 135 euro an hour, the same band as the smaller Dublin firms here, with a 900 euro project minimum. Sectors are consumer brands, sport and leisure, public sector and non-profits. It suits a regional business that wants one agency for press and events; the breadth is what to test, so ask how many hours a month actually go on media relations.

  9. 9. Revolve Marketing and PR

Best for consumer and lifestyle sectors

    Location
    Blackrock, Ireland
    Team size
    2 - 9
    Hourly rate
    €90 - €135
    Min project
    €900+
    Founded
    2004

Revolve was founded in 2004 in Blackrock, south Dublin, with a small team and an additional London presence. The work is consumer and lifestyle PR, with celebrity and influencer partnerships, event management and media buying attached.

    How they work

Having media buying in-house alongside PR is unusual on this list. It means paid and earned activity can be planned together rather than across two suppliers.

    What sets them apart

Sectors are fashion and beauty, hospitality, travel and tourism, interiors, and retail. Rates are 90 to 135 euro an hour with a 900 euro project minimum. It suits a consumer brand aiming at the lifestyle press, and it is a poor match for B2B or industrial clients, because the contact book is built on the consumer side and does not transfer.

  10. 10. TechUnit

Best for PR inside a digital marketing retainer

    Dublin, Ireland
    Team size
    10 - 49
    Hourly rate
    €45 - €90
    Min project
    €900+

TechUnit is a digital agency on Leinster Road in Dublin with a team of 10 to 49, covering website design and build, business applications, paid advertising, SEO and digital strategy.

    How they work

PR here is a line item inside a broader digital retainer rather than the main product, which is the opposite of most firms on this page. Published work includes a full technical build and multi-channel marketing programme for a regulated German property investment platform.

    What sets them apart

Rates are 45 to 90 euro an hour, the lowest published on this list, with a 900 euro project minimum. Sectors are financial services, property, technology and retail. It suits a business that wants one supplier for the website and the marketing with some press activity included. If journalist relationships are the reason you are hiring, the specialists here are the better brief.

Good PR builds a brand's reputation over years, through journalist relationships that can't be bought the way advertising space can. What it doesn't do is give an existing customer a reason to buy again once the coverage has run. Reputation and repeat business are related but separate outcomes. Brandfire designs and builds loyalty and rewards programmes for brands across Ireland, the kind of work that turns a good reputation into a good repeat customer.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a PR agency cost in Ireland?
Published project minimums run from 900 to €4,500, though most agencies publish nothing. PR is almost always sold as a monthly retainer rather than a project. Ask what the retainer buys in hours, because that is the only comparable number between agencies.
What does a PR agency actually deliver?
Media relationships and the coverage that comes from them, plus the writing and positioning work behind it. It does not deliver guaranteed placements, and any agency promising specific coverage in specific titles is describing advertising, not PR.
Should I hire a specialist or a full-service agency?
Most agencies on this list are PR specialists, which is unusual and useful. A specialist has the journalist relationships. A full-service agency with a PR line usually does not, and coverage depends almost entirely on those relationships.
How do I measure PR results?
Agree the measure before you start. Coverage volume is easy and nearly meaningless. Better measures are share of voice against named competitors, coverage in the two or three titles your buyers actually read, and inbound enquiries that cite an article.
How long should a PR retainer run before I judge results?
Six months is a fair minimum. Journalist relationships and consistent positioning take time to build, and a retainer cancelled after six weeks never gets past the introductions. Most agencies ask for a three or six month initial term for this reason.
